In 2023, Malcolm Bernstein, founder of The Benjamin Project and Lisa Browning, publisher at One Thousand Trees, teamed up for a unique project in collaboration with elementary school-aged children, to produce books to raise awareness of specific animals, and to raise funds for animal welfare organizations. They published 5 books in their first year.
 
By publishing Benjamin’s Building Blocks, which talks about the project, their hope is to inspire groups of children across Canada to take part in this life-changing project.
